Remembering The Island

I am fondly called Boots in a family of 13 children of Juan and Soccorro Robasto of Magallanes. I went to Maripipi just for a simple visit, but due to being less fortumate and the hardship of feeding many children, my father decided to leave me to one of his distant relatives named tatay Cayo . His daughters were all kind to me. I remember my days in Maripipi when I would just go down near the seashore and pick many of the natural resources from the sea. I also remember the beauty of the island and the kindhearted people living there. I stayed in Maripipi for two years. I studied one year at Viga highschool before I was brought to Nueva Ecija to live with my older sisters. Now I am living in Salawag Cavite, married to Richard Delacruz, a seaman from Isulan Sultan Kudarat. I have an 18 year old daughter taking up nursing and a consistently bright son who is in grade five. It gives me a happy moment when I look back thinking about my experiences in the beautiful island of Maripipi.
